GREEN BRAEHEAD off Glaisnock street

Also known as the Gasworks brae, it ran downhill to Greenholm Mills. The holm at the bottom of the brae had at various times Donaldson Braes cottages, Swaley’s yard.  And across the Glaisnock water, Glaisnock Cottage, Raikem’s green, McCartney’s engineering works. Since 2013 it has the council building called Rothesay House.

POTTERY ROW. To the right of Greenbraehead was the gas works and then Cumnock Pottery. Then a row of single story thatched cottages built for pottery workers known as Pottery Row, from 95 Glaisnock Street uphill.
